Ukrinform reported that the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine told the agency that a Russian drone directly struck the NASU building in the center of the capital. The Kyiv Independent also reported that the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences building was set ablaze during continuing Russian drone attacks on Kyiv, citing Klitschko for the casualty count of one woman killed and three injured in the attack on the city center.
Official Telegram channels for Zelensky, Kyiv's military administration and Ukraine's State Emergency Service carried or mirrored the same presidential statement about the Academy building, the fire and the search for possible victims.

The most important caveat is the viral wording that the building was "destroyed." Available sources show a fire, a direct drone strike, visible damage and an active rescue operation. They do not yet provide an official structural assessment saying the whole Academy building was destroyed.
The casualty count should also be treated as an early official figure, not a final toll. Klitschko's update reported one woman killed and three people hospitalized at the central Kyiv building. Zelensky said there were fatalities in the day's attacks and offered condolences, but his short statement did not give a final site-by-site toll.
